Naturism is a way of living in harmony with nature, characterized by a practice of nudity in common that aims to promote respect for oneself, respect for others and the environment. Definition of naturism at the XIV International Congress
The naturist license has long been mandatory for access to the majority of naturist spaces, today it is essentially required for membership of an association, however to preserve their naturist specificity, some resorts require their vacationers to membership to the naturist license. The number of licensees is in net regression, while the followers of the "full nude" are more and more numerous and claim a right to the naked in all places. The youth section "Alizé" became "Club du Soleil Jeunes" then "Association des Jeunes Naturistes de France" in 2010. The difficulties faced by single men are ironed out in most holiday centers. It is not the same in some associations where gender parity is to be respected, naturism being practiced mainly in the family. In France following the invasion of non-naturists beaches, some are closed to naturism for various reasons invoked by municipalities, vacation centers change owners and lose or retain their naturist specificity.
01In the 1950s, France had fewer than 5 naturist centers and campsites.Currently, there are more than 150 of all sizes, from the small family center welcoming a few dozen people to large centers that receive several hundred. The French Federation of Naturism (FFN) brings together more than 150 associations clubs and holiday centers.
The strongest naturist presence is on the Aquitaine coast: currently, there are on the Côte d'Argent as many naturist bathers as bathers in swimsuits. The first and largest naturist centers are located on this part of the Atlantic coast: CHM-Montalivet (commune of Vendays-Montalivet), Euronat (commune of Grayan-et-l'Hôpital), Arnaoutchot (municipality of Vielle-Saint -Girons), the Jenny (municipality of Le Porge).
The littoral of Languedoc-Roussillon also knows a strong naturist presence, notably the naturist village of Port Leucate (Aude), being the biggest naturist village recognized by the French Federation of Naturism, in (Hérault) it is in Sérignan, and at the Oltra campsite in Cap d'Agde, which is home to many naturists.
No naturist center on the Côte d'Azur, where the natural landscape has become rarefied under the concrete, but there are some small centers in the hinterland (commune of Puget-Théniers) and larger ones on the coasts of Corsica. There are still some naturist beaches, especially at Cap Taillat (commune of Ramatuelle, in the Var), thanks to the Conservatoire du Littoral which saved this sector. It should be noted that coves in Marseille have been frequented by naturists since 1929.
The famous and beautiful island of the Levant has a naturist village, Heliopolis, open to all audiences. In Heliopolis, the seashore must remain free and accessible to all, no privatization of the coastal strip is accepted. In the 21st century, this naturist and ecological principle still remains in force. The naturist co-owners of Heliopolis have "frozen" at their expense a vast wooded area, where any construction is prohibited, which constitutes a natural reserve open to the public. Source: wikipedia
